The Sacking of Little Boy Mountain

Where carelessness leads to loss of spells and wealth and only providence saves the party from possible death following a comedy of strategic buffooning. A lesson is taught but at a costly price and the desire for vengeance is born.

Spring 2,304 Meldigian Reckoning

Open returning to LBM the party immediately realises they have been robbed as their wealth which was left in the Stomach of Chag has disappeared. A locate object spell is immediately cast and the party realise the thieves must still be within the upper part of the complex. What do to next???. The party stand in the Stomach of Chag in a bright ball of continual light debating a course of action. It is decided that Swiftsword will be sent to investigate and Chutikik casts a sacred Guardian upon him so that the party may know if he is in danger. Swiftsword climbs the shaft to the upper level and set of a glyph of warding. He races to the next chamber only to be struck down by a giant of a man in full plate armour and a powerful dwarf wielding two axes. The party knows this has happened due to the Sacred Guardian but Swiftsword’s final fate is unknown. What to do next??

A bright spark remembers that in the upper level is a scrying room through which the intruders could be watching the party. The lights are turned off. What to do next ??

Caldo in frustration decides to check things out himself so he flies up to the base of the shaft to see what happened to Swiftsword. Caldo is struck down by an invisible assassin. Upon the party seeing the wavering of his light they investigate to find Caldo lying dead at the base of the shaft, stripped of all his valuable and magical possessions. Upon closer examination it is revealed that Caldo is not quite dead yet but suffering the effects of a powerful poison. Chutikik and Pharin combine to slow then neutralize the effect of this venom.

The party decided to take up a defensive position at the base of the shaft whilst an attack plan is formulated. Mysteriously an arrow is fired at them from the direction of the Stomach of Chag. This arrow strikes the wall to blossom into a fireball filling the party’s position with searing flames. A second fireball arrow follows the fists so Ankara charges to assault the unknown archer. Of the archer no trace is found.

The party then decides to climb the shaft using a combination of air walk and levitation spells as well as natural aptitude. The party is immediately assaulted by a invisible foes with steel and spells. A very dangerous battle ensues with some heroes luck narrowly swaying the balance of the battle in favour of the party. As the parties foes are vanquished the enemy wizard disappears. The party search the complex to discover that the wizard has escaped with the bulk of their wealth and many of their powerful magic items. Swiftsword is found unconscious and gagged and trussed in the pit of the Audience Hall. Chutikik attempts to garner some intelligence by some limited speaking with the dead enemy but naught of use is discovered.
