The Desert Light, and a Side Adventure in the Writhing Swamp Where riches are won, nightmarish creatures are met and an ancient mysterious relic is recovered. Autumn 2,301 Meldigian Reckoning On the way word reaches the party of a Black Dragon terrorising farmlands near the Writhing Swamp. The party hunts and slays two black dragons only to be nearly slain themselves by a even more fearsome Frogemoth in the swamp. The party returns to Dresden with the dragons hoard and heads south again. The cryptic map leads the party south beyond Irilian to an ancient abandoned fortress overlooking the trade road called "Tomorold". From here a light is seen in the desert and the part follows it to find an old palace like fortress half buried under the shifting sand dunes. From a high tower in this fortress shines a light. The party's horses will not go near the building and indeed a sense of foreboding is felt by everyone. Within is found an amorphous tentacled creature of nightmares which nearly defeats the party. Upon its vanquishing the sense of evil and dread departs. In a chamber deep beneath the complex the party finds a secret room guarded by 5 headless creatures made of sand which the party slays. In the center of the room is a pedestal on which is a green/grey stone in the shape of a pentacle. Enveloping the is a ball of white flame. When touched by the Ankara he was enveloped in this flame and as if under control of another force he turned and said the words "rise Lythanicus the Keeper" whereupon a crumbling skeleton in the room swirled up into its old form the flashed away from the chamber like a comet.
